Candace Damiani in every since of the word is eye candy, however she's also a triple threat performer with an amazing personality to boot. Candace was so relaxed and down to earth when we first met for the shoot it was like meeting up with an old friend. She came off extremely professional and ready to get to work. And the moment she started to move, that's how you know. I said, "You're a dancer right?" She said, "Yes,..." that she had been dancing for years, and was traditionally trained. With every movement she made you could tell it was art. She had a soundtrack in her mind and it showed. You could also tell she was prepared. It was wonderful! I love it when models have a style, and are prepared to express themselves to the camera, and have an idea for the image. You could tell she put a lot of thought and time into this already very quickly put together shoot. It's almost like I was having an audition for her dancing ability and modeling. I can only imagine her acting presents. With the right roles, and industry exposure Candace is destined for greatness.
I called Candace about the shoot to discover a little bit about who she is, and to decide on wardrobe choices and the like. From the moment we spoke I loved her energy and enthusiasm about the project. She came to the table with some really cool ideas. I mean she just got it from the very beginning. The crazy thing is, the whole Country Sunset idea, mostly encouraged by the location, was completely off the cuff and impromptu. We had another, I'll call it secret, location planned, and it was closed off to us, so at literally the last second, I drove around and found that spot, asked the owner if we could shoot on their property, and with a beautiful woman like Candace, it was hard for them to say no. So we shot in the country on a hill, near a mountain. I'll let you guess the mountain. And it worked perfectly with the amazing high waisted Gitano cut-offs Candace had on. I couldn't have imagined the amazing sunset happening the way it did. That afternoon was mostly cloudy and I thought that would be great diffusion for the natural light, but when the clouds broke a little, right at the perfect time, the miracle happened. You just can't plan some times to be at the right place at the right time. In my mind we had help to be able to capture that country sunset.
